More than 1000 ladies sign up for The Sleep Walk 2015

More than half of the places available for Rowcroft Hospice’s 2015 Sleep Walk have been filled within two weeks of registration officially opening.

More than one thousand ladies have already signed up for the hospice’s annual ladies-only night walk, which this year takes place on Saturday 11 July and features a brand new five and ten mile route, as well as a boot stompin’ Wild West theme.

Organisers are urging all ladies who would like to sign up for the walk to register as soon as possible to avoid missing out on what promises to be the most rip roarin’ event of the summer.

Jess Goodwin, Rowcroft’s Events Co-ordinator, said: “We are thrilled with the number of places that have been filled so far and would like to thank all those who have signed up for their support!

All What’s on South Devon readers who sign up online before 31st March will receive an exclusive discount, securing their place for only £12, instead of the usual £15 full ticket price.

Jess added: “We would encourage all those who want to register to visit www.rowcroftsleepwalk.org.uk to secure their place as soon as possible. Places are filling fast so don’t waste another cotton pickin’ minute!”

Since it launched four years ago The Sleep Walk has raised an incredible £690,000, helping to support the vital services Rowcroft provides for more than 2200 people living with life-limiting illnesses across South Devon, as well as their loved ones.

Rowcroft’s Fundraising Manager, Rachael Bryett, said: “More than 70% of our funding comes from the local community so we rely heavily on all our Sleep Walkers raising as much in sponsorship as they can for the hospice.

“Our fundraising target for this year is £200,000 so all the money our walkers and supporters raise towards this target will be hugely appreciated!”

The Sleep Walk is open to all ladies over ten-years-old, and organisers are also encouraging all those who would like to volunteer at the event to get in touch.

Jess said: “We couldn’t put on such an important fundraising event without the support of hundreds of volunteers, so would also like to encourage anyone who’d like to visit www.rowcroftsleepwalk.org.uk to find out more.”
